Do I need to create an account to contact an owner?
A free renter account is required to send a message to an owner. Registration takes under two minutes and only requires your name and email address.
Are there any booking fees or service charges?
No. We charge renters nothing. You pay only what the homeowner lists as the rental price. There are zero platform service fees or hidden charges added at checkout.
How do I know the listings are legitimate?
Every listing on our platform is tied to a verified property owner who has confirmed legal ownership through official documentation. Our team manually reviews each new listing before it goes live.
What rental durations are available?
Listings cover vacation stays (a few nights to a week), monthly rentals, seasonal / snowbird rentals (typically November through April), and long-term rentals of six months or more. Filter by duration on the search page.
Can I negotiate the rent directly with the owner?
Absolutely. Because you communicate directly with the homeowner, many owners are open to discussing terms, discounts for longer stays, or flexible move-in dates. Just ask them through the messaging system.
Is Rent Villages Direct only for The Villages, Florida?
Currently yes — we are hyper-focused on The Villages® retirement community in Florida. This lets us offer deep local knowledge, verified neighborhood info, and a tight-knit owner community you won’t find on generic platforms.

How do I get started with a new listing?
Click ‘List Your Home’ in the navigation, create your owner account, and follow the step-by-step listing wizard. Our AI Listing Assistant will help you craft an SEO-optimised title and description based on your home’s details.
How many photos can I include in my listing?
You can upload up to 34 high-resolution photos per listing. We recommend professional photography for the best results — contact us if you’d like to be connected with a local photographer.
Can I sync my Airbnb or VRBO calendar?
Yes. Rent Villages Direct supports iCal import and export, so you can sync your availability calendar with Airbnb, VRBO, or any other platform that supports iCal to prevent double bookings automatically.
Do I control my own pricing and rental terms?
100%. You set your price, minimum stay duration, pet policy, house rules, and everything else. We never impose restrictions or suggest pricing changes without your approval.
How will renters find my listing?
Your listing appears in our search results and is promoted through our regional advertising across social media, email campaigns, and search engine marketing targeting people searching for rentals in The Villages.
Can I update my listing after it goes live?
Yes — you can edit your listing details, swap photos, adjust pricing, and update availability at any time from your owner dashboard. Changes are reflected on the live listing within minutes.
What verification do I need to provide?
You will need to confirm your identity and provide proof of property ownership (e.g., deed, tax document, or utility bill in your name). Our team reviews this privately and securely before your listing is approved.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
